The Acoustics team develops hearing protection, communication, noise reduction, ultrasound devices, and systems for military and commercial applications. The group specializes in acoustic data acquisition, analysis, underwater acoustics, vibrational systems, and simulation and modeling.
Requirement Summary
Our Acoustics & Simulation Group seeks an Active Noise Cancelling Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team working on diverse research projects, including commercial, military, and medical technologies. Innovation and problem-solving are key, along with effective collaboration with researchers.
Responsibilities
* Recognize and creatively solve complex problems as a self-starter
* Conduct experiments independently and inventively
* Serve both as an individual contributor and team leader
* Own project success and maintain customer relationships
* Manage project schedules and risks
* Support business development through proposal writing and strategic partnerships
* Document project progress
Desired Qualifications
* Broad interest in science and technology with adaptability and willingness to learn new techniques
* Experience with phased-array processing and array design
* Experience in Active Noise Reduction (ANR) or Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
* Knowledge of adaptive filtering and statistical signal processing
* Experience with acoustic testing, data acquisition, and analysis
* Embedded DSP system design experience
* Knowledge of physical system modeling and background in statistics or information theory is a plus
* Excellent writing skills
Education/Experience
* MS in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field; PhD is a plus
* 5+ years of relevant experience
