We require database fluency, with experience moving away from Ingres or similar RDBMS and working with DBAs on schema, queries, and performance. We require practical quality engineering skills, including test design, defect triage, and readiness for multi-phase test models such as SIT, E2E/UAT, and OAT. We require delivery experience with version control tools such as Git or TFS, lightweight design documentation, and effective stakeholder communication. We collaborate with DB engineers to plan and validate schema and data migration and to optimise SQL procedures and queries after migration. We build and execute test plans with QA, covering unit, functional, regression, and non-functional testing across SIT, E2E/UAT, and OAT. We manage defect lifecycles and support release readiness, including traceability, approvals, rehearsals, and cutovers where needed.
