Early Years Assistant - Fleetwood Area (November Start)
Are you a passionate and dedicated Early Years Assistant looking to make a real difference in young children's lives?
We are currently seeking qualified Early Years Assistants to support a variety of primary schools across the Fleetwood area with a November start date. These exciting, temporary roles are based within primary schools, supporting the new cohort of Reception pupils as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) into school life.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a supportive and nurturing environment, surrounded by enthusiastic colleagues and eager learners. Since you will be working with young children, you will need enthusiasm, energy, a can-do attitude, and a genuine desire to offer understanding and support as pupils grow and develop social, emotional, and mental skills.
You must be open to working both indoors and outdoors, engaging actively in classes that involve paint, sensory activities, and messy play. These pupils will still be guided by the EYFS framework, moving toward a reception curriculum, and may also require support with personal care, such as toilet training, as they adapt to the school setting.
Role Details & Compensation
As we are recruiting for a variety of settings, we have a range of roles available from full to part-time. All roles are temporary, term-time only, operating within the working week of Monday - Friday, typically between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM.
Pay: £13.84 - £14.50 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
Provide continuous support for the holistic development of all pupils.
Encourage curiosity and a positive attitude towards learning.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment for all children.
Monitor and assess children's progress and development under the guidance of the class teacher.
Collaborate effectively with teachers and other staff to ensure a cohesive approach to early years education.
Build strong, positive relationships with children and their families.
Ideal Requirements:
While these are not strictly compulsory, candidates who possess the following are strongly encouraged to apply:
Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (e.g., Nursery Nurse qualification).
Previous experience working as an Early Years Assistant in a nursery or early years setting.
Strong working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine passion for working with young children and promoting their well-being and development.
