Roles & Responsibilities
Overview
The Clubhouse is an intrinsic part of the community at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club. It is primarily a facility for Members, Players and their Guests but also serves as a venue for private parties and small events across the year. It is an environment the Club would like to be proud of and one that Members should see as the cornerstone of social life at the Club with a range of offerings and services that add to the sense of exclusivity from membership.
The objective of the Clubhouse Manager is to develop this environment, providing and building on existing services to create a successful, profitable and exclusive asset to the Club whilst being an entirely self-sufficient department.
Objectives
I. Self Sufficient Department
To create a self-sufficient Department able to run day to day operations, financials, staff hiring and training with minimal input from other Departments of the Club.
II. Respectable and luxury environment for Members, Players and Guest
To develop the environment into a respectable and successful service that Members, Players and Guests enjoy as an
exclusive benefit of being part of the Community of the Club.
III. Conduit between Members and the Club
To gain the support and trust of Members, Players and Guests emphasising on the personal touch.
IV. Right Balance of the Right People
To achieve the right balance of a profitability without compromising the image or environment of the establishment.
Duties
I. Service
Provide beverage and basic food service where possible with the ability to try and test new ideas and practices.
II. Stock Management
Responsible for the ordering and management of stock with fortnightly stock checks reported to the Commercial & Operations Director.
III. Finances
Responsible for daily cash up of cash draws and card terminals, using the provided safe whilst leaving an appropriate float.
IV. General Tidiness
The Clubhouse is cleaned daily however the Clubhouse Manager's responsibilities include maintaining tidiness, the cleanliness of the bar area and checking that furniture and facilities, including lavatories, are in good standing.
V. Coordination of Clubhouse events
Including the hiring and training of any additional staff that may be needed as well as ensuring the event is as profitable as possible for the Club.
VI. Promoting Events and Opportunities to Members
Ensuring that Members are aware of what is taking place at the Club and encouraged to participate where appropriate.
Responsibilities
I. Punctuality
To ensure that you are on duty and the Clubhouse is open when prescribed (detail below) whilst being in a fit condition at the time of opening.
II. Sickness / Inability to attend
To notify with as much notice as possible any inability to attend and assist in securing a temporary replacement.
III. Presentable
To always be presentable when on duty and ensue that any hired staff follow sufficient standards.
IV. Extra-staff
To hire and train additional staff when needed for Clubhouse events
V. Major Events
Certain Major Event may require the Clubhouse Manager's assistance to run a professional operation in one of the enclosures. Such situations would be well planned in advance and it is the responsibility of the Clubhouse Manager to ensure additional cover for the Clubhouse where necessary.
VI. Courteous & Hygiene
To always maintain suitable standards and ensure that any additional members of staff maintain similar standards of conduct and behaviour.
VII. Ancillary Items
To collect / arrange for delivery of any items of daily stock including newspapers.

Monday - Closed (Bank holidays open 2pm - 8pm unless members are in and using the space)
Tuesday - Closed (subject to polo)
Wednesday 3pm - 8pm (unless members are in and using the space)
Thursday - Closed (subject to polo)
Friday 3pm - 8pm (unless members are in and using the space)
Saturday 12pm - 11:00pm
Sunday 12pm - 11:00pm
