Wistaria & Milford Surgeries serves a growing population of 16,000+ patients and we are seeking a Medical Secretary to join our busy, friendly team. Our Practice team are passionate about providing the highest possible care to our patients.
We are looking for approachable, enthusiastic, calm, reliable, empathetic and conscientious applicant to join our friendly and professional team, to provide general secretarial support to Doctors, Health Professionals and Managers. You must have a flexible approach, with previous experience of dealing with members of the public with good typing, telephone and IT skills.
The position available is across a range of hours 4-5 days per week. We are seeking a minimum of 24 hours up to 37 (full time) hours per week.
Starting time 8.00am and finishing time will typically be 6.00/6.30pm, hours will range Monday – Friday with no weekend cover. There will be a standard shift working pattern with some flexibility required during periods of colleagues leave.
Job Responsibilities:
* To provide an efficient audio, copy typing for GPs and Health Professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, scanning patients reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc. in an accurate and quality manner.
* Scan correspondence into patients' medical records and file in the appropriate manner
* To ensure all tasks are dealt with across all sites in date order, and are not either site specific or GP specific.
* To receive calls in a timely manner from secretarial ring group between the agreed designated secretarial hours.
* To be readily available & assist when requested to join the W&M ring group to assist with general call answering
* To take messages, patient and admin tasks, forwarding to the appropriate health care professional and completing secretarial tasks as required.
* To assist the Practice Manager and Managers with all clerical and administrative duties.
* To make appointments, bookings and admissions as required.
* To establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure.
* To retrieve medical records from Restore and assist the completion of medical/insurance records.
* To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
* To maintain the computer clinic system in an accurate and secure manner.
* To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.
* To provide cover for members of the secretarial team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
* In liaison with the clerk responsible, maintain adequate supplies of office stationery in order to perform your secretarial duties.
* To receive, Frank and dispatch mail and maintain a pending system.
* Maintain tidiness in the office, ensuring safe practice for yourself and other staff members
* Ensuring "clean desk" and locked computer when leaving your desk

Pay: £13.00-£13.40 per hour
