Join Our Team as a Complex Needs Support Worker

Drayton, Abingdon, Oxfordshire
Salary:
£13.16 per hour (£25,662 per annum) plus benefits
Hours:
7.00 am – 3.00 pm, 2.00 pm – 10.00 pm (Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis. Please note, the shifts may vary due to the needs of the people we support)
Contract:
Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent
Driving Requirement:
A valid full UK manual driving license is essential.

Essential Criteria:
To be considered for this role, you’ll need experience in at least two of the following areas:
* Supporting people with learning disabilities, including using communication tools like Makaton or PECs
* Working with individuals with autism and/or visual impairments
* Experienced with behaviour that is highly challenged and applying Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies

We’re looking for someone who:
* An individual who is comfortable supporting someone with complex needs.
* Experience working with individuals who may at times present behaviours that challenge.
* Confident in implementing proactive and person-centred strategies that promote emotional safety, dignity, and engagement.
* Holds a full UK manual driving licence and is confident driving different vehicles
**From October to the end of the year, you’ll need to travel to Birmingham (B38 area) during John’s transition before he moves to Drayton.

* Daily Support: Helping with personal care, meal preperation and cooking, medication, and daily routines
* Building Trust: Getting to know John and supporting him in a way that works for him
* Encouraging Independence: Helping him achieve personal goals and explore new things
* Social Fun: Supporting him to enjoy hobbies, outings, and holidays
* Respect & Dignity: Always treating John and his family with kindness and respect
Who will you be Supporting:
John* You’ll be supporting John, a vibrant individual with complex needs who’s moving into a specially adapted home.
John loves music (especially classical), Disney films, colouring, and outdoor fun like trampolining and swings. He also enjoys story time and trips to cafés and going on drives. His dad is a big part of his life, so family involvement is key.
