Salary Range: Grade 1, SCP4-5 (£25,185 - £25,583 FTE)
Actual Salary: £16,538-£16,799
Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year they are subject to an equated salary adjustment
Weeks: 39 working weeks, 45.942 paid weeks
Working Type: Part time (27.5 hours per week) term time only

Please note: the post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Norton Primary Academy are looking for a suitably qualified and trained individual who has experience of working in a school setting with primary children. Some training or knowledge on intimate care is required.

1. Assisting with personal care needs like toileting, feeding, and hygiene, and helping to develop independence skills.
2. Administering first aid, dispensing medication as prescribed, and keeping medicalrecords up to date.
3. Supporting policies and procedures to ensure the welfare and protection of childrenand vulnerable families.
4. Supervising students during breaks, lunchtimes, and school trips, and helping tomaintain order and safety.
5. Liaising with parents, teachers, and other agencies to support students; welfare needs
This role will also include working with pupils who require additional support with communication and interaction.
6. Work with individual pupils or small groups to implement documented treatmentplans and programmes developed by a supervising speech and language therapist
7. Help pupils develop essential communication, social interaction, and confidence-building skills.
8. Use specific strategies, such as Makaton or visual aids, to support a totalcommunication environment.
9. Motivate and encourage pupils to concentrate on and complete tasks.
10. Work closely with teachers, parents, carers, and other professionals, such as speechand language therapists, to support students effectively.
11. Undertake minor clerical duties, such as photocopying and preparing resources.
