Scottish Borders Council
Scottish Borders Council Fostering Panel Member
We are looking to recruit a suitably experienced person or persons to sit on the Scottish Borders Council Fostering Panel.
Fostering Panel
Regulation 4 of the Fostering Children (Scotland) Regulations 1996 requires each local authority to appoint a panel for the purpose of considering and advising on the approval of foster carers and matters relating to fostering.
We already have a well-established Fostering panel in the Scottish Borders and have positive working partnerships ensuring the quality of our Fostering.
To enhance current practices we are recruiting new members to the Fostering panel. The Panel meets monthly and currently meets on-line (though this may develop into a hybrid model).
We are looking for Panel members who have professional and / or personal experience of working with people and have considerable childcare knowledge and a commitment to the quality care of care experienced children and young people.
Remuneration will be consistent with similar appointments currently £150 per Panel plus travel expenses (when required). The appointments will be for an initial 2-year period and will be subject to review; we anticipate you will work with us on average 1 day per month for each Panel. Work will involve preparation for and attendance of panel meetings.
