An excellent opportunity has arisen for an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and reputable manufacturing business based in Birmingham. The Role
As a Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of manufacturing and site equipment. You will work within a structured maintenance environment focused on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out front-line electrical repairs and maintenance activities
* Perform predictive and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
* Maintain manufacturing machinery and ancillary/site service equipment
* Diagnose faults using electrical drawings and PLC systems
* Support machine reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
* Liaise with production teams regarding downtime, repairs, and plant handovers
* Deliver effective and efficient breakdown response
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and quality procedures
* Work collaboratively within a flexible engineering team environment
Requirements
Electrical Maintenance background or multi-skilled with electrical bias.
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline
* Time-served apprenticeship
* Strong electrical fault-finding ability
* Good understanding of PLC systems
* Ability to interpret electrical circuit drawings
* Heavy engineering or manufacturing experience
* 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
Desirable
* ONC or HNC in Engineering
* Experience within heavy industry industry
* Knowledge of EHS procedures in manufacturing environments
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
