Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Business Development Manager for our client based in Lanarkshire, covering the Edinburgh and Fife areas.
Role Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven and strategic Business Development Manager to drive growth across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating a high volume and value of enquiries, ensuring branch turnover targets are consistently achieved. With a focus on both new business development and client account management, this role plays a crucial part in delivering long-term business success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Generate sufficient volume and value of enquiries to meet branch turnover targets.
* Spend approximately 40% of time targeting new business, with the remainder dedicated to account managing existing clients.
* Monitor branch performance against targets and implement action plans to address any shortfalls.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication.
* Attend networking events and client meetings, representing the business professionally.
* Use ERP system daily for call planning, follow-ups, and accurate opportunity and quote tracking.
* Submit monthly sales reports and participate in branch reviews.
* Update ERP with job performance commentary.
* Support the bid team to ensure timely submission of tenders.
* Contribute to social media initiatives in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Coordinator.
* Conduct job completion surveys and encourage online reviews.
* Manage and follow up on outstanding opportunities daily.
* Ensure timely submission of quotations and clear communication with clients.
* Develop relationships with supply chain partners, including Dulux, Crown, and PPG.
Skills & Experience:
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in new business development and account management.
* Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively.
* At least 1 year of experience selling services to sectors such as Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Education, Health, Commercial, and Retail & Leisure.
* Industry experience preferred, ideally within a Tier 1 contractor environment.
* Full UK driving licence is essential.
Offering:
* Salary of £40,000 – £45,000 depending on experience.
* Bonus opportunity of up to 25%.
* £6,452 annual car allowance (£8,052 for electric car allowance).
