Senior Engineer – Freelance (Civils/Groundsworks)
Glasgow & Central/West Scotland | Long‑Term Freelance Opportunity
We’re supporting a busy groundworks contractor who is looking for a Senior Engineer capable of delivering both the technical and managerial sides of the role. This isn’t a pure setting‑out position — they need someone who can confidently handle ITPs, RFIs, RAMS, and general site engineering duties while supporting multiple sites across Glasgow and the wider west.
What You’ll Be Doing
Setting out for groundworks and civils packages across multiple sites
Preparing and managing ITPs, RFIs, RAMS and other QA documentation
Supporting site teams with technical queries and problem‑solving
Liaising with Site Managers, subcontractors and the wider project team
Ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and to programme
Providing engineering support across several live sites in the west
What They’re Looking For
A freelance engineer with experience in groundworks and civils
Someone who can balance setting out with paperwork/QA responsibilities
Strong understanding of site processes, sequencing and compliance
Confident communicator who can work independently across multiple locations
Glasgow/West‑based or able to cover sites across the region
