About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Social Work Team Manager to lead our Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This is a key leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality services to children and young people with complex needs and their families.
You will oversee a team of social workers and practitioners, ensuring statutory duties are met while driving forward a culture of safeguarding, inclusion, and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and develop a team delivering services to children with disabilities
Ensure compliance with statutory frameworks including the Children Act 1989 and SEND legislation
Oversee assessments, care planning, and safeguarding interventions
Provide reflective supervision and performance management to staff
Work collaboratively with education, health, and partner agencies
Manage budgets and resources effectively
Drive service improvement and maintain high practice standards
About You
We are looking for a motivated and skilled leader who has:
Qualified Social Worker status and registration with Social Work England
Significant post-qualification experience in children’s social care, including CWD or SEND
Proven management or supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and disability legislation
Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
A commitment to improving outcomes for children with disabilities and their families
