Description
This entry-level role involves drafting, assessing, and settling claims for costs, managing procedural aspects up to agreement or assessment, and handling file management. The role includes managing a caseload of end-of-life payables.

* Interlocutory applications (basic)
* Part 18 requests
* Consent orders
* Evidential reviews and assessments
* Review of files and preparation of chronology
* Assessing claims for costs and setting strategies/reserves
* Assessing replies
* Reviewing incoming disclosures and documentary evidence
* Referral for supervision
* Assessing outcome of PA
* Reporting
* Drafting advice on NDA files to clients
* Preparing outcome reports post-case conclusion
* Updating clients on cases and assisting in settlement negotiations
* Assessing Part 36 offers and other settlement proposals
* Negotiating with third parties
* Completing MI, payment requests, and outcome reports to clients
* Ensuring compliance with SRA Standards & Regulations
Working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. The primary location is Parklands, Bolton.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
Essential:
* English & Maths GCSE grade A-C / Level 5 or equivalent
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Strong organizational skills, including prioritization and multitasking
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, including experience in costs negotiation
* Customer service skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Initiative and attention to detail, especially in drafting legal documents
* Understanding of client needs and litigation and costs processes
* Proficient use of case management systems
Desirable:
* Legal office experience
* Use of case management systems
* Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
