We are looking for a
n outstanding researcher with a background in transport measurements of high temperature superconductors and irradiation damage of materials, who is self-motivated and able to plan and deliver a complex research project. You will have a relevant PhD (or be near completion) in Materials Science or Physics and will have hands on experience of performing cryogenic transport measurements and planning irradiation campaigns. You will be working as part of a team of researchers in the Materials Department, bringing expert knowledge to drive forward our pioneering in situ irradiation experiments. The role requires a relevant PhD(DPhil), excellent communication skills and an interest in performing state-of-the-art experiments at external facilities such as Surrey Ion Beam Centre, Birmingham neutron source, ISIS neutron and muon facility and Diamond Light Source.
