A Leading Education Recruitment Agency is recruiting Behaviour Mentors to work across a range of mainstream schools, SEMH provisions, and alternative settings in Barnet. These roles support pupils who display challenging behaviour, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, and social difficulties, often linked to trauma or unmet SEN.
Role Overview
As a Behaviour Mentor in Barnet, you will support pupils who require consistent adult guidance, clear boundaries, and emotional support to access education successfully. Pupils may struggle with impulsivity, anger, low self-esteem, or disengagement from learning.
You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to implement behaviour strategies, support reintegration into lessons, and help pupils develop positive coping mechanisms.
Responsibilities
* Deliver targeted behaviour support in line with individual plans
* Support pupils in managing emotions and behaviour
* Use positive behaviour reinforcement and de-escalation techniques
* Support classroom engagement and transitions
* Work 1:1 or in small groups
* Monitor and record behaviour progress
* Liaise with SENCOs, teachers, and parents where appropriate
* Follow safeguarding and behaviour policies
