The Multi-Skilled Camera Operator is a field-based role focused on delivering high-quality live and recorded sports news coverage across the UK. Combining technical camera operation with responsive newsgathering, you'll work in fast-paced, often breaking news environments. You'll manage on-location logistics, operate and troubleshoot broadcast equipment, and collaborate closely with reporters and production teams to ensure smooth delivery. The role also involves representing Sky professionally on-site. It's a hands-on position suited to someone technically strong, adaptable, and comfortable working independently. What you'll do: Operate broadcast cameras for live hits, press conferences, match-day coverage, and news features. Coordinate with Assignments and LCD, responding promptly to job allocations and schedule changes. Manage travel, vehicle operation, and on-location logistics. Set up and troubleshoot technical equipment including cameras, audio, lighting, and LiveU units. Work collaboratively with reporters, producers, and fellow Rangers. Maintain excellent communication and represent Sky professionally on location. Take on Production Manager duties for SSN major events within your area, ensuring smooth planning, coordination, and on-site execution and assisting Sky Sports when necessary.
