The Angling Trust is looking for an experienced and motivated
Communications Manager
to provide management of the Angling Trust's National Angling Strategic Services (NASS) contract communications and to lead communications for our fisheries support programmes.
This is a key leadership role, managing Communications Officers working on Participation and Enforcement communications, while also working closely with the Environment Agency to co-create impactful campaigns that promote fisheries support, coaching, enforcement and angler engagement.
You'll report to the Head of Communications and collaborate with senior colleagues across the Trust. This is a full-time role, fixed term until March 2028 (with possible extension), that will suit an individual with strong strategic communications experience and some knowledge of angling, outdoor recreation or sports national governing bodies.
What you'll be doing
* Lead communications for the Angling trust and NASS contract Fisheries programmes
* Provide line management to Officers delivering Participation and Enforcement communications
* Develop and oversee integrated communications plans across NASS strands (Fisheries, Participation and Enforcement)
* Enhance storytelling and content quality across all areas of NASS
* Ensure consistent messaging and tone across multiple channels
* Work with the Environment Agency and partners to deliver collaborative campaigns
* Monitor performance and demonstrate value for money through effective reporting
Who you are
* Experienced in managing communications teams or freelancers
* Skilled in developing and delivering multi-channel communications strategies
* Strong at stakeholder engagement and working with external partners
* Excellent written communication and organisational skills
* Knowledgeable about freshwater fisheries and angling issues in England
What will make you stand out
* Experience in the public or non-profit sector on funded contracts
* Experience in angling, outdoor recreation or sports NGB communications
* Experience with communications measurement and reporting
