Secondary Teaching Assistant - Knowle, Bristol
Do you want to help students overcome barriers to learning and realise their full potential? We are currently recruiting for proactive, empathetic and passionate Teaching Assistants to work in a mainstream secondary school in South Bristol with a high number of SEND pupils. This is an incredible opportunity to work in a collaborative team alongside a dedicated Speech and Language specialist, ELSA practitioner and specialist TA's in literacy and numeracy.
Salary: £90 - £125 per day, depending on experience
Hours: Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4pm
Term time only
Location: Bristol - BS14. Easily accessible by public transport!
Responsibilities
* Provide extra support to key stage 3 students with special educational needs and those for whom English is an additional language.
* Work under the direction of teaching staff to deliver and adapt learning activities for pupils one to one or in small groups.
* Supervise pupils during break periods.
* Build positive relationships with students to promote their academic success and emotional well-being.
* Encourage students to develop self-confidence, resilience, and independence.
The Right Candidate
* Maths and English GCSE (Grade A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent.
* Extensive prior experience within an education establishment as a learning support assistant, teaching assistant, unqualified teacher, etc.
* Possess good behaviour management skills and remain calm under pressure.
* Be confident with ICT skills, particularly Microsoft packages.
