Respiratory Physiology at ULHT is looking for 2 full time flexible and motivated Respiratory Physiologists to meet the needs of the service.
The post holder will be required to support the day to day running of the respiratory physiology service, perform reports and supervise complex specialised investigative procedures to ensure an efficient service.
Posts are based at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston and Lincoln County Hospital with Trust wide working.
Main duties of the job
To provide a specialist clinical technical service through the resource management, quality control of equipment, education of the health care profession whilst contributing to the development of procedures and services.
Involvement in all aspects of physiological measurement that are carried out in the Respiratory Physiology department. This will include using a variety of equipment and techniques to measure and monitor respiratory function for both inpatients and outpatients, assess lung disease, long term oxygen therapy assessment in an outpatient setting.
Sleep assessment and management of CPAP and review and develop exercise testing.
Qualifications
* BSc (with hons) in Respiratory Physiology or equivalent
* State Voluntary registration RCCP
Previous Experience
* Previous experience of performing a range of diagnostic procedures within specialist area of Respiratory Physiology
* Experience of working within an NHS department
* Evidence of Professional development.
* Experience of working as a Respiratory Physiologist/Therapist/Technologist in a hospital setting
Skills and knowledge
* In depth knowledge of Respiratory Physiology procedures
* Good knowledge of national and local guidelines.
* Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 package
* Skills in maintaining record keeping systems and procedures.
* Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgements.
* Ability to develop, plan and implement short and long range goals/developments.
* Strong organisational skills
* Ability to manage own workload
* Responsive and flexible attitude and approach. Self-motivating.
* Empathetic attitude with patients.
Specific requirements
* Able to work on own initiative
* Be prepared to work as a team member.
* IT knowledge to enable development of databases
* Ability to have an input in service developments
