Job Purpose:
We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Prisons Team Leader to join our Substance Misuse Team within Heal - Nurse, based in Brixton, UK. This full-time role offers a competitive salary of £33,082.00 per annum. You will lead and manage a team of practitioners delivering health and wellbeing interventions to adult drug and alcohol users, utilising both harm reduction and abstinence-based treatment approaches. The successful candidate will inspire and develop a team dedicated to providing tailored support and interventions in a prison environment. Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership and Management:
* Lead and manage a team of practitioners delivering health and wellbeing interventions, tailored to individual client needs, with a focus on harm reduction and abstinence-based approaches.
* Allocate daily caseloads, including managing a small number of complex cases, ensuring that quality standards and performance targets are met.
* Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring that interventions are delivered effectively and that clients receive appropriate support.
* Act as a role model during periods of change and provide effective leadership, ensuring the team remains motivated and engaged.
* Service Delivery and Stakeholder Engagement:
* Act as the senior representative on-site when required, deputising for the Service Manager to ensure the smooth running of the service.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including prison governors, healthcare providers, and other relevant agencies, to ensure effective service delivery.
* Ensure data accuracy and the timely submission of required reports to contractors and partners, maintaining transparency and accountability.
* Performance Management:
* Ensure that performance targets set by the organisation, commissioners, and contractors are met consistently.
* Monitor and manage team performance, addressing issues as they arise in collaboration with HR and the Regional Service Manager (RSM).
* Participate in regular reviews, including quarterly line management and probation reviews, for personal development and ensuring that team members continue to progress in their roles.
* Quality and Safety:
* Ensure compliance with service standards and conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement.
* Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing, both for the team and clients, ensuring adherence to all relevant health and safety regulations.

Person Specification:
* Experience in leading teams, with a proven ability to manage and motivate staff to achieve performance targets.
* In-depth knowledge of substance misuse treatment approaches, including harm reduction and abstinence-based models.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to manage a complex caseload and make sound decisions under pressure.
* Understanding of data accuracy, performance management, and reporting procedures.
