Contract Engineer & Supervisor & Working Charge Hand – Piping & Mechanical
Responsibilities
Management of mechanical, piping, fabrication & welding work. Ensuring materials & equipment & drawings are at the work place. Work is completed safely, QC specs & drawings. Permits for work, risk assessment, method statements are completed and adhered to. Attending site safety & ops/progress meetings, liaising with client managers. Completing contract management reports and reporting to senior project manager & ops director.
Qualifications
* SMSTS card ideally. If not, must have OSH or NEBOSH & SSSTS.
* HND Engineering or C & G – NVQ 3 Mechanical or HVAC or Piping.
Start Date
As soon as possible.
Contract Term
13–26+ weeks. Contract role subject to workload and work on other sites as required. Could be longer term or a permanent role.
Supervising Work
Connecting pipework to panels, valves manifolds working from general & PID engineering drawings fitting screwed, maypress and small bore compression pipework. Installing mechanical systems on machinery & erecting fitting steel work platforms on food factory site. Completing checks & pipework tests, working from IPAF Scissor Lift/Cherry Picker.

Travel & Lodging
If prepared to travel and lodge away, hotel & meal paid for by company for 3–5 nights per week if sites are not in local areas.
Hours of Work
0700–1900 Mon‑Fri, Sat 0700–1630 & Sun if required.
Pay
£30 per hr Mon‑Fri, £35 per hr Sat, £40 per hr Sun, depending on role & qualifications.
Location
Workers ideally living 10–30 miles of main site. Considering those traveling further or lodging.
Lodging Details
Hotel & meals paid if living 60+ miles from site.
