We are looking for a Sales Associate to join our Surgical Technologies Sales team covering South & Midlands of the UK.
Working closely with an experienced Regional Sales Manager, you will develop and foster strong relationships with key opinion leaders. You will take an active part in customer education in the field, supporting the Regional Sales Representatives to achieve greater customer engagement and commercial success with our newly launched Neptune Portfolio. You will actively pursue business opportunities to grow Stryker’s business in targeted accounts, always displaying exemplary customer service and patient focus.
In this role you will:
1. Develop the skills required to become an effective sales representative.
2. Work closely with the sales team on driving compliance to current contracts.
3. Learn and practice techniques to grow the volume of a defined territory through sales of the Surgical Technologies portfolio.
4. Focus on market-leading brands such as Neptune and Safe Air.
5. Manage business in accounts within an existing sales territory and become responsible for the day-to-day running of key accounts.
6. Become proficient in dealing with stock issues, instrument requirements, organizing loan kits, and conducting regular customer training. Learn to provide guidance on the safe use of Stryker products within the hospital and operating theatre environment.
7. Support other sales managers to allow them to focus on new business acquisition and account development.
Essentially, this is a training role with a view to becoming a full-time Sales Representative with independent targets and business objectives. Initially, there will be no individual sales target. Bonuses will be based on achievement of milestones/objectives and regional targets. In this role, you will support all products within the Surgical Technologies portfolio.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
1. Learn to manage a territory effectively and grow business in line with national sales objectives.
2. Implement and deliver training sessions and workshops on the use of Stryker products to nurses, theatre practitioners, and surgeons.
3. Understand customer needs and identify opportunities to promote and sell Stryker’s products, using basic selling, presentation, and negotiation techniques.
4. Manage channels for providing products into hospitals, such as consignment of kits or loan services, to best meet customer needs.
5. Provide excellent customer service to hospitals within the theatre and clinical environment, building relationships with key personnel.
6. Prioritize patient care by recommending appropriate products and maintaining high ethical standards.
7. Work closely with the sales team and Business Unit Manager to ensure top-tier customer service across the region. Attend surgeon training meetings and educational conferences.
8. Conduct trials and evaluations of products in theatre and clinical environments as required.
9. Observe customer needs and collaborate with sales colleagues to follow up and introduce new or additional Stryker products and support.
10. Record customer details and develop a basic business plan with daily, weekly, and monthly objectives, learning to prioritize and allocate resources effectively to grow business.
Job Requirements
* Sales or business experience is advantageous but not essential.
* Commercial acumen and an interest or experience in dealing with customers.
* Presentation skills using modern media.
* An interest in anatomy and physiology.
* Ability to engage, influence, motivate others, and work diligently.
