My client is a leading warehousing and distribution company with sites across the UK, serving predominantly the UK FMCG market. With a turnover of around GBP 60m, they are aiming for growth and hope to reach GBP 100m in the next few years through organic growth and acquisitions.
Having recently invested in a purpose-built VMU, they are looking to recruit an experienced Parts Advisor to join their team on a 4on/4off shift pattern.
Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Continuously maintain accurate inventory levels through the use of parts management software.
* Ensure accurate receipt of all inward stock.
* Maintain optimal inventory levels to maximize availability while minimizing inventory value.
* Support the management of external supplier relationships.
* Ensure the stores department runs efficiently.
* Perform physical functions including:
o Goods Inwards and stock putaway
o Stock retrieval and picking
o Stock allocation to fitters/technicians
o Movement of stock within the store
o Perpetual inventory counts
* Assist with the annual stock take to ensure all stock is counted and variances investigated.
* Assist with managing obsolescent stock and minimize liabilities. Maximize impress stock opportunities.
* Raise POs for all orders.
* Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding stock management queries.
* Ensure all returns are completed promptly and stock levels are updated accordingly.
Ideally, candidates will have 2+ years of experience in a similar Parts Advisor or Stores Controller role, with strong knowledge of parts or stock control processes. A background in engineering or automotive/HGV parts is preferred but not essential.
