The company creates award-winning, hand-crafted sculptures for prestigious spaces worldwide.
As Design Director, you will be a visionary leader and global ambassador guiding the creative direction of New, Bespoke, and Classic collections while inspiring a talented team and captivating international audiences with your design voice.
The Role At a Glance
* Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire HQ (Hybrid 3 days per week in office) + travel minimum 6 times per year, representing the brand globally

What Youll Shape
As Design Director, you will drive David Harber’s creative vision, shaping new concepts into elegant, commercially successful products while keeping the Classic range vibrant. You will transform client briefs into bespoke proposals, experiment with materials and finishes, and lead multiple projects from sketch to proposal with precision and flair. You will also serve as a global ambassador, representing the brand at high-profile events, leading CPDs, and building influential networks in the design world.
You will lead and mentor a creative team, foster innovation, and collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Marketing to energise stakeholders and deliver exceptional results. You will work with consultants and clients worldwide, bringing ideas to life in prestigious spaces.
Leadership is central: inspire and mentor the team, set design excellence standards, and partner with senior leaders to guide the business forward. Exceptional communication will unite teams, stakeholders, and clients around bold ideas and shared success.
About You
You will have a degree in visual or product design (or equivalent) and senior-level experience, ideally in the luxury sector. You should understand historical, classical, and contemporary design, balance creativity with commercial awareness, and be confident in face-to-face client interactions. Exceptional communication and networking skills are essential, with proven experience leading, motivating, and developing a creative team. A positive, open approach and the ability to inspire clients, colleagues, and stakeholders are key.
Required: ability to travel frequently and represent the brand globally. Location is in Didcot with hybrid working; occasional travel required.
