Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Pension Actuarial Consultant. The role involves ensuring accurate and efficient execution of client tasks and assignments, requiring exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and effective multitasking.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare and coordinate letters and reports with minimal supervision.
2. Supervise phases of actuarial valuations and special projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
3. Prepare materials for and attend client meetings, delivering presentations to clients and prospects.
4. Implement new services and assist scheme consultants with pension scheme consultancy aspects.
5. Coordinate and review project assignments to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
6. Assist in developing and presenting proposals for consulting services.
7. Proactively deliver consulting services and develop responsive solutions.
8. Achieve billable hours objectives through effective client deliverables.
9. Ensure timely and quality completion of tasks within budget.
10. Explain and analyze pros and cons of different solutions to clients.
11. Utilize relevant tools, including regulatory guidance and accounting standards.
12. Maintain contact with clients regarding work products and inquiries.
13. Listen to clients’ needs and articulate suitable solutions.
14. Grow client relationships and improve service efficiency to stay competitive.
15. Collaborate with other lines of business on projects and client relations.
16. Assist in preparing client invoices.
17. Participate in hiring, training, and motivating junior staff, providing feedback and managing performance.
18. Work effectively within a team environment.
19. Improve work processes, delegate, and supervise junior staff tasks.
20. Seize new opportunities, accepting challenges and responsibilities.
21. Maintain in-depth knowledge of marketplace benefits products.
22. Participate in and lead training activities to enhance knowledge.
23. Bring in experienced personnel as needed for assignments.
24. Share work products across the company.
25. Pursue actuarial credentials through ongoing professional development.
26. Peer review own work and ensure quality standards.
27. Maintain accurate time recording and client billing.
28. Stay updated on regulatory requirements.
29. Adhere to corporate policies and report breaches as necessary.

* FIA/FFA qualification.
