Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Clean Water Process Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team on water treatment and process engineering projects. The role offers responsibility for technical outputs, process optimisation, compliance with regulatory standards, and mentorship of junior engineers. This contract position provides the opportunity to work on challenging infrastructure projects and contribute to innovative solutions within the water sector.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the evaluation, design, and optimisation of process solutions for clean water treatment projects
Deliver technical outputs, including calculations, specifications, design documentation, and project scoping materials
Ensure all engineering deliverables meet regulatory and quality standards
Support commissioning activities and provide technical guidance on operational performance
Mentor and coach junior engineers, supporting their professional development and chartership aspirations
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, standards, and procedures
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate process, civil, structural and mechanical requirements
Analyse and report on process performance, including cost, risk, and efficiency considerations
Candidate Requirements
Degree-level qualification in Chemical Engineering, or relevant engineering/scientific discipline
Chartered Engineer status, or working towards chartership
Minimum 5 years' experience designing and optimising clean water treatment processes
Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and CDM 2015 requirements
Competent in project and process software, including Microsoft Office, and experience with design tools
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring skills
Proven ability to deliver innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges
Flexible, self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
