The Royal London is seeking a passionate, forward‑thinking nursing leader to step into a 6‑month secondment as Senior Nurse for Integrated Paediatrics. We welcome internal candidates at Band 8a or above who can inspire teams, champion integrated pathways, and drive exceptional paediatric care. Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide forward-thinking and professional leadership to all nursing staff and other staff groups, within the Integrated Arm of the Children’s Division. The post holder will have responsibility for ward areas 7D and the Paediatric Assessment Unit, Children’s Hospital at Home and community Children’s Nursing Services based at Mile End Hospital, including the Looked After Children’s Nursing Team. In addition, the post holder will manage clinical nurse specialists within the integrated arm, namely Allergy, dermatology and children with medical complexity. The structure of the integrated arm of the division may change to adapt to the need of the hospital and the patient group.

The post holder will also have full understanding of the key functions of the teams and services they manage ensuring the child and their family/carers experience in wards & departments is of a consistent high standard with an emphasis on safety, dignity and compassion. The post holder will understand the current local and national objectives for their responsible services and be able to plan and develop strategies to incorporate these into current services.

The post holder will work in partnership with the Clinical lead and General Manager for the services in their portfolio, developing the strategic direction and policy framework, ensuring that the service contributes significantly to the achievement of corporate objectives and that effective governance arrangements are implemented and maintained.

Experience

Essential criteria

1. Evidence of operational and management responsibilities
2. Experience of working with external and internal multi-professional teams
3. Experience of auditing, evaluating and service development.
4. Experience with managing complex budgets, including budget setting.
5. Experience of line management, including HR Issues
6. Previous experience working in a senior children’s nursing position, 8A or above.

19. Registered Children’s Nurse/ RN.
20. Educated to degree level in relevant subject
21. Leadership qualification
