Speech and Language Therapist – Inpatient Mental Health Team
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Bradford Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service for a band 6 Speech and Language Therapist in the Inpatient Mental Health Team. This post is for 33.75 hours per week.
We are also very happy to consider a Band 5 to 6 development opportunity to welcome any clinicians who would like to develop skills and competencies within Inpatient Mental Health SLT services.
The successful candidate will join a supportive team of Speech and Language Therapists already working elsewhere in our Adult Community and Mental Health Team. The post holder will benefit from:

The post will also receive support from a Band 7 Clinical Lead Speech and Language Therapist, Principal Speech and Language Therapist and the AHP lead.
The successful applicant will work across inpatient services in Bradford and Keighley to provide speech, language, communication and eating and drinking assessment and intervention to adults with mental ill health.
Main duties of the job
To work effectively as part of the Speech and Language Therapy provision within the adult mental health and forensic inpatient services across Bradford and Airedale by ensuring both communication and dysphagia pathways are developed and followed by all staff.
Training and clinical supervision is provided, and standards of service provision are updated, monitored, and maintained.
This role promotes good communication standards so that people who use the service, their families, and carers are involved in decisions about their care.
To manage a caseload of both routine and complex cases.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Speech and Language Therapist with the Health Professionals Council
* Registered with RCSLT
* SLT Degree or Diploma qualification
* Post‑basic dysphagia training
Experience
* In‑depth experience working with adults with mental health conditions
* Experience working in a variety of health, social, educational and residential settings
* Experience working in a multidisciplinary team
* Experience supporting pre‑grad SLT students, clinical support workers and junior colleagues
* Evidence of training others, e.g., parents, support staff, professionals
* Experience working in an inpatient mental health hospital setting

Salary
£32,073 to £48,117 a year, Pro Rata.
