Event Director – B2C Live Events

About the Opportunity
We are working with a market-leading global events business to hire an Event Director to lead a flagship consumer exhibition portfolio.
This is a well-established, high-performing B2C brand that runs three large-scale live events annually across leading UK venues, attracting tens of thousands of attendees and a substantial base of exhibitors and partners. The portfolio is widely recognised as a category leader and offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of a highly commercial, customer-focused product with significant growth potential.
The Role
This is a senior leadership role with full P&L ownership, responsible for the commercial performance, strategic direction and successful delivery of the event portfolio.
You will lead cross-functional teams across marketing, sales and operations, ensuring the delivery of best-in-class live experiences while driving revenue growth and product evolution.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the end-to-end performance and delivery of the event portfolio, with full P&L accountability
* Define and deliver a clear value proposition and annual business plan, aligned to growth targets and customer needs
* Lead the budgeting process and develop a rolling three-year strategy to drive revenue and profitability
* Use customer insight and market intelligence to enhance the attendee, exhibitor and sponsor experience
* Identify and launch new features, products and revenue streams to support continued growth
* Oversee the end-to-end delivery of live events, aligning marketing, sales, PR and operations teams
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, venues and industry stakeholders
* Deliver accurate forecasting and reporting, proactively managing risks and opportunities
* Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing team, building capability and succession
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a senior role with responsibility for the management and growth of large-scale B2C exhibitions or conferences
* Strong commercial track record with P&L ownership and revenue growth delivery
* Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams across marketing, sales and operations
* Deep understanding of live events, customer experience and commercial event models
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience managing key client and partner relationships
* Highly data-driven, with the ability to translate insight into strategic and commercial decisions
