Ready to step up and run a busy workshop? We’re looking for a hands-on Workshop Controller with strong technical ability and natural leadership to take charge of day-to-day operations in a fast-paced municipal fleet environment.

The successful Workshop Controller will require
* Lead from the front as the senior technician while controlling daily workshop activity
* Plan workloads, schedule servicing and MOTs, and keep vehicles on the road
* Diagnose, maintain and repair a mixed fleet of light and heavy vehicles
* Control job cards, paperwork, parts ordering and stock levels
* Provide technical support to the team and maintain high quality standards
* Liaise confidently with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders
* Manage rotas, holidays and standby cover to ensure full workshop coverage
The successful Workshop Controller will receive
* Proven experience in an HGV or municipal workshop environment
* Strong people management and organisational skills
* Confident with diagnostics, fleet maintenance and compliance
* Comfortable using vehicle management systems and completing accurate paperwork
* HGV Category C licence preferred
* Apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent in automotive engineering (CPC an advantage)
