Offer description

Could you see yourself leading construction and demolition activity in one of the UK’s most safety‑critical environments? Are you driven by complex projects where your decisions directly protect people, the environment and long‑term outcomes?

This is an opportunity to join a highly experienced, safety‑focused team working across a decommissioning nuclear site. With multiple projects underway from new process buildings to the conversion, refurbishment and demolition of legacy assets you’ll be at the heart of work that is challenging, purposeful and genuinely impactful.

What will you be doing

As a Site Engineer / Construction Supervisor you’ll play a key role in ensuring contractor activities are planned and executed safely, compliantly and to programme. Working closely with the Site Construction Manager, you’ll provide visible leadership across site, balancing strong governance with practical coordination to enable safe, efficient delivery in a highly regulated environment.

You’ll take ownership of reviewing and accepting risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work, while monitoring contractor performance against licence conditions and site standards. Through regular engagement with contractors and site teams, you’ll drive collaboration, support audits and inspections, ensure robust emergency arrangements are in place, and actively promote a positive commitment to safety, the environment and company values.

Key elements of the role include:

* Providing proportionate oversight and monitoring of contractor construction and demolition activities
* Reviewing, challenging and approving RAMS and supporting documentation
* Coordinating with contractors and site teams to ensure safe, compliant delivery
* Supporting safety audits, inspections and regulatory engagement

Who are we looking for

We’re looking for a confident, safety‑led construction professional who can plan, manage and coordinate contractor teams in a demanding and highly regulated setting. You’ll be an effective communicator, comfortable advising and influencing others, self‑motivated and delivery‑focused, with safety always at the forefront of your decision‑making.

You must have proven experience managing or supervising construction activities, alongside a strong working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. Essential qualifications include either CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme or a NEBOSH Construction Certificate, plus a relevant HNC or NVQ Level 5 (or equivalent). While not essential, an understanding of construction contract forms ideally NEC3 ECC and completion of an APM introductory course would be advantageous. Above all, you’ll bring credibility, professionalism and an excellent safety culture to everything you do.
