+ Non Medical Endoscopist Trainee Post
+ Band 6 Annex 21 para 2 (i), Gastroenterology Team, Ninewells Hospital
There is an exciting opportunity for a trainee Non-Medical Endoscopist to work as an integral member of the well-established Gastroenterology specialist nursing team. They will be responsible for a caseload of patients who predominantly have gastro-intestinal disease and will be expected to initially carry out diagnostic/therapeutic Colonoscopy and Capsule Sponge.
The post holder should have extensive post registration experience in a relevant sphere of practice and will be expected to work collaboratively across health care boundaries. Research, education, audit and the JAG quality assurance programme will be an integral part of the role. The post holders will be based at Ninewells but will be expected to work across NHS Tayside. They will be involved in collaborative working, therefore, leadership, interpersonal and excellent communication skills are essential.
The successful applicants will require training as a Non-Medical Endoscopist and on successful completion of the Non-Medical Endoscopy Training Programme (starting September 2025) and when the post holder is working independently as a Non-Medical Endoscopist, the post will become a substantive Band 7 (£50,861 to £59,159 per annum). This post is subject to Annex 21 para 2 (i) trainee contract.
They should be a First Level Registered Nurse, OPD, Allied Health Professional, Physicians Associate, Therapeutic Radiographers and Health Care Scientists (GI Physiologists) with evidence of ongoing professional development educated to degree level (or SCQF Level 9 equivalent).
