Job Summary
The Clinic Nurse and CQC Registered Manager is responsible for delivering safe, appropriate, and high-quality patient-centred care across ophthalmology, dermatology, and aesthetic services (both surgical and non-surgical), while ensuring regulatory compliance and leading the clinical team. The role combines:
* Direct clinical care and assistance with procedures.
* Oversight of CQC compliance, policy and procedure review and implementation, audits, reporting, governance, and inspections.
* Leadership and professional development of the wider clinical team.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Clinical Nursing
* Deliver pre-consultation assessments and act as a chaperone when required.
* Provide patient information and treatment price guides.
* Assist with and set up for minor and advanced ophthalmology, dermatology, and aesthetic procedures.
* Dispense medications safely and accurately.
* Manage clinical equipment (maintenance, servicing, safe use).
* Oversee stock levels and ordering of consumables.
* Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with NMC and medico-legal standards.
2. CQC Registered Manager
* Lead compliance processes, audits, and reporting.
* Review and implement policies and procedures.
* Conduct risk assessments and manage incidents.
* Ensure cleanliness, infection control, and safety standards are upheld.
* Manage patient complaints in line with policy and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare for and facilitate CQC inspections, ensuring continuous compliance.
* Keep the Medical/Clinic Director and staff informed of regulatory and governance updates.
3. Leadership & Management
* Provide visible leadership and act as a role model for clinical excellence.
* Mentor, supervise, and support the clinical team.
* Oversee induction, training, and professional development.
* Ensure completion of mandatory training by all staff.
* Contribute to HR processes (recruitment, appraisals, performance management, disciplinary processes if required).
* Foster a supportive, motivated team culture.
* Ensure patient information materials are regularly reviewed and kept up to date.
Qualifications and Experience
* RGN qualification with current NMC registration – minimum band 6.
* Clinical experience in ophthalmology, dermatology, or aesthetics.
* Demonstrable experience in CQC compliance, including audits and reporting.
* Strong written and spoken English.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office / 365.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* High attention to detail; ability to prioritise and perform under pressure.
* Patient-focused, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and in a team.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
