Warehouse Assistant
Overview: We are looking for a motivated and reliable Warehouse Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our warehouse operations. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and distributing goods, as well as maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the overall warehouse team. This is a hands-on position for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Goods Reception: Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming goods and deliveries.
* Inventory Management: Ensure accurate stock levels by performing regular stock checks, updates, and cycle counts.
* Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring items are correctly selected and packed for delivery.
* Storage & Organisation: Organise and store products in the warehouse, ensuring a tidy and efficient layout for easy access and safety.
* Shipping & Dispatch: Assist with loading and unloading deliveries, and prepare products for dispatch, ensuring orders are correctly labelled and shipped on time.
* Quality Control: Inspect products for quality and damage before storing or shipping, reporting any issues to the Warehouse Supervisor or relevant department.
* Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment, including proper lifting techniques and safe use of warehouse equipment.
* Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or other machinery (training provided if needed).
* Team Support: Assist warehouse colleagues with any other duties or tasks to ensure smooth daily operations and customer satisfaction.
Key Requirements:
* Previous experience in a warehouse or stock control role is an advantage, but not essential.
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
* Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
* Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
* Basic knowledge of warehouse management software or the ability to learn quickly.
* Ability to lift heavy items and stand for long periods as part of daily tasks.
* A proactive attitude and willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
