Purchasing Manager role in Doncaster responsible for negotiating and executing purchase orders and supplier contracts, whilst leading a small team of Buyers across 2 sites.

I'm currently working in partnership with a highly successful Doncaster based manufacturer who supply a range of large assembly-based products to a stable and growing customer base. This leading UK business has experienced impressive growth in recent years and are now looking for a Purchasing Manager to help them maximise supplier efficiency, cost of supply chain and quality of goods.
Description
The Purchasing Manager will have full responsibility for all purchasing and procurement activities across the business. With 2 Buyers reporting into this role, focus will be on supplier negotiations and relationships. Responsibilities will include:
Leading the procurement function with a view to drive cost out of the supply chain
Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier agreements effectively.
Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
Create and utilise key metrics to hold suppliers to account (KPIs)
Working alongside quality to investigate any non-conformances (NCRs) Profile
Successful candidates will have a strong purchasing background with a proven knowledge of the manufacturing sector. You will also possess:
A demonstrable background in purchasing and/or procurement within the manufacturing sector
Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
Knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
Proven skills in reducing costs, improving quality and implementing purchasing processes to improve supplier relations and delivery
Strong communication skills both at shop floor and board level
ERP system knowledge would be advantageous Job Offer
£50-60k, depending on experience
4 and a half day working week
