Customer obsessed, high energy, and love learning every day? If that sounds like you, earn £370+ per week as a Customer Assistant on our standard 30-hour contract.
Your role will be varied, working across different shift times, tasks, and with different colleagues.
What does a normal day* as a Customer Assistant look like?
(*there’s no such thing as ‘normal’ in retail, but we’ve tried our best!)
As a Customer Assistant, you are required to sell alcohol, therefore you must be 18 or over to work in our store.
Shift Patterns
* Morning shift: Starting at 5am or 6am with your team, you’ll be getting our award-winning products fully stocked on the shop floor and our delicious bakery products ready for our customers to enjoy by opening time so they can Go Full Lidl!
* Middle shift: Starting mid-morning or early afternoon, you’ll ensure our stores are spotlessly clean, well-presented, and our products remain fresh, while helping customers with queries and working on tills to minimise queues.
* Late shift: From your start time in the afternoon, you’ll serve customers with a smile, restock missing items, and prepare the store for the next day.
What you'll do
* Interact with customers in a pleasant, friendly, and helpful manner.
* Follow stock loss controls in all areas of the store.
* Maintain store and external cleanliness and hygiene standards.
* Follow freshness and rotation principles.
* Manage waste correctly.
* Assist in stock count processes.
What you'll need
* A can-do attitude and excellent customer service skills.
* The willingness to go the extra mile for customers.
* Responsibility and reliability.
* Enjoy working in a fast-paced, varied environment.
* Be a good team player.
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role is preferred but not essential if you have the right attitude.

Salary progression over years
Year 1: Basic £12.40, £15.50 (Unsocial Hours), £18.60 (Overtime/Sundays)
Year 2: Basic £12.80, £16.00 (Unsocial Hours), £19.20 (Overtime/Sundays)
Year 3: Basic £13.40, £16.75 (Unsocial Hours), £20.10 (Overtime/Sundays)
Year 4: Basic £14.10, £17.63 (Unsocial Hours), £21.15 (Overtime/Sundays)
