The role
As a Driver, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will ensure the provision of professional driving for all nominated tasks are required to meet or exceed customer and company expectations whilst working with Babcock and RAF Stakeholders.
Day-to-day you’ll be responsible for:
1. Driving fuel tankers on shift to support flying operations.
2. Perform daily, weekly, and any other necessary maintenance and checks to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
3. Manage all vehicle-related administration and ensure all personal licenses, medicals, and competencies are up to date.
4. Conduct see-in and see-off procedures, and be authorized to carry out fuel and oil replenishment on aircraft.
This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Cranwell, near Sleaford. The shift roster is made up of the following shifts: 07:00-19:00 and 10.30–22:30 and also late finishes as per business requirements 7 days a week.
Essential experience of the Driver
5. Must have prior experience as a Driver. Holding a Cat C license is essential, but the current driving role does not need to be military.
6. Evidence of previous experience working on their own initiative.
7. Strong timekeeping skills are required.
8. Working knowledge of tachographs.
9. Understanding of transport and driver legal requirements.
Qualifications for the Driver
10. PSV, LGV C on license, and ADR qualified (candidates who do not hold all licenses will still be considered if you hold the Cat C element).
11. Current DCPC card and a digital tachograph card.
12. Clean driving license with a Cat C qualification as a minimum.
13. Must meet eye color vision standards of CP2/CP3 for airfield airside operations.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain DBS security clearance for this role.
