We are currently looking for an experiencedChef de Rangfor our fine dining Sunlaws Restaurant at SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel. This is apermanent, full-time position, working 5 days over 7. Youmust be over 18 years oldfor this position and available to work evenings and weekends.

We offer acompetitive salary of £13.13 per hour plus gratuities* and excellent employee benefits.

*Gratuities (tips) are an additional charge added onto services and are paid to all employees on a pro-rata basis regardless of your role. The amount is not guaranteed and is depended on service charge paid.

TheChef de Rangwill support the Assistant Restaurant Manager with the day-to-day running of Sunlaws Restaurant and ensures the smooth delivery of service and creating an exceptional culinary experience for our guests.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Lead your section to ensure a seamless and efficient dining experience at SCHLOSS Roxburghe.

To work as part of a team, supporting and helping each other with developing and operating all aspects of the business.

You will assist with leading and inspiring the F&B team to exceed in their roles, through guidance, training and setting an example.

You will deliver a memorable food and beverage experience for our guests, assisting them with menu choices in an informative and enthusiastic way.

Attitude is to be second to none so ensure a friendly, professional, helpful, and courteous service to the customer always: and the same to your colleagues.

Provide effective delivery of Food in timely manner.

Provide effective delivery while maintaining quantity and quality throughout service.

Collect and have clean equipment for all aspect of your Mise-en-place.

To ensure all beverages and condiments are prepared and sent out in timely manner.

Ensure all operating areas of Back of House are kept clean and tidy at all the time.

Be present for designated briefings times before each service period.

To ensure complete & thorough menu knowledge of the food & beverage items.

Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness, presentation of furnishings/table set ups.

To be flexible and carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capacity as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments as required, to meet the demands of business and customer service needs.

To inform Managers of guests comments or requirements if he/she cannot personally resolve them immediately.

To adhere to all Health & Safety, Emergency, Fire and Hygiene procedures in accordance with company policy and government regulations.

Always maintain a high standard of personal cleanliness and hygiene and grooming standards.

To ensure proper handover is done at the end of your shift.

You will maintain the highest standards of service and presentation throughout the Restaurants and Bar service periods.

You will maintain consistent and effective communication with all departments to ensure the smooth running of the F&B service.

Be confident in and control cash handling and cash up procedures in line with policies and procedure, ensuring that any queries are rectified with accounts in a timely manner.

Proficiently up sell and encourage other team members to do the same at every opportunity.

You will actively manage on the floor while building a rapport with colleagues and guests.

You will manage guest recovery situations promptly and effectively and communicate updates.

Support management with stock takes, organisation and counting.

You will contribute to ideas and initiatives to develop our quality of service and increase revenue in the department.

Support with training of new team members.

You will give regular feedback and recognition to team members.

Your Knowledge & Capabilities:

You are enthusiastic and have a positive personality with the ability to build genuine and relationships.

You are incredibly motivated and take pride in your work.

You have a passion for and understanding of 5-star hospitality and delivering exceptional guest service.

You will be a confident section holder whereby managing your area(s) in a professional manner & with ease.

You have strong organisational and leadership qualities.

You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.

You are confident in handling guest complaints.

You can work well under pressure in a fast paced and changing environment

Proven Experience/Qualifications:

Minimum of 2-years experience in Food & Beverage or the hospitality industry

Previous experience as a restaurant section holder within a fast-paced environment.

Experience, knowledge and understanding in the luxury hospitality industry.
