We are seeking a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in Maternal Medicine and Diabetes.
Job Overview
This is a combined Obstetric and Gynaecology post. The post holder will be expected to develop services within their specialised area, working in close collaboration with other consultants. Responsibilities include covering labour ward on a rotational basis, along with antenatal and general gynaecology clinics, as well as elective and emergency theatres.

We are also investing in Midwives, including strategies for international recruitment. Our maternity services collaborate with King's College London to provide specialist Fetal Medicine services at Southend and Basildon, and our Gynaecology Oncology Centre continues to build strategic links with tertiary centres across the East of England.
Main Duties
1. Cover labour ward and gynaecology emergencies on a rotational basis, along with antenatal and general gynaecology clinics.
2. Participate in clinical governance activities, including risk management, handling complaints, SI investigations, clinical trials, and CNST.
3. Provide expert input for cases in the central delivery suite that deviate from the norm, including risk analysis and management plans.
4. Provide site-based clinical leadership for antenatal, postnatal, and gynaecology pathways.
