Your new opportunity
Lead and manage Fostering and Shared Lives services: Ensure high-quality, person-centred care delivery, while supporting the Service Manager and deputising in their absence.
Supervise and develop Social Workers: Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
Drive carer recruitment and training: Oversee the recruitment, assessment, and ongoing training of foster carers.
Manage caseloads and provide support: Ensure effective support and monitoring of Supervising Social Workers' caseloads.
Build strategic partnerships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with external agencies and stakeholders.
Support and contribute to service panels: Assist the Service Manager with panel duties, including deputising and providing expert advice.
Ensure regulatory compliance: Maintain adherence to all relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies.
Working pattern: This is a full-time role offering 35 hours per week, primarily based in our Glasgow Regional office located in Springburn. There will be travelling required for visits and panel meetings, this means the successful candidate will need to have a full UK driving licence with daily access to your own vehicle.
What you will need to bring to the role
Essential
Knowledge and experience of working with Foster Carers and Shared Lives Carers or similar setting.
Qualified Social Worker.
Experience of staff management and supervision, along with the ability to motivate and develop the staff team contributing to development of training in awareness of Fostering and Shared Lives.
Registered with SSSC.
Experience of effective partnership working to meet clients needs and service delivery.
Knowledge of Disability issues, particularly as they affect social care.
An ability to use relevant IT systems including spreadsheets, PowerPoint, excel, word, databases etc.
Evidence and experience of working with key partners.
Desirable
To have, or be working towards, a qualification in management or equivalent
Good working knowledge of developing and implementing effective, continuous improvement processes
Well-developed negotiation skills in a variety of forums, to develop the service to meet the needs of Commissioners, paid carers and their families
