Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Oakwood, a category C prison located in Wolverhampton.
HMP Oakwood is one of the largest prisons in the UK, housing over 1,500 men. The Pharmacy Team consists of 10 Pharmacy Technicians and 2 Pharmacy Assistants. There are 3 main houseblocks, each with two dispensaries, and three smaller units with one dispensary each.

* Monday – Sunday service
* 37.5 hours per week
* 4‑week rolling rota
Fortnightly rota
* WK1 – Tues and Fri 07:00‑18:00, Wed & Thu 07:00‑17:30
* WK2 – Tue 07:00‑18:00, Wed 07:00‑17:30, Sat & Sun 07:30‑17:30
* WK3 – Wed, Thu & Fri 07:00‑18:00
* WK4 – Mon & Tue 07:00‑18:00, Sat & Sun 07:30‑17:30
Salary
This is a full‑time position; the annual salary ranges from £29,264 to £33,510 per annum (furlough‑equivalent), and will be pro‑rota.

Main duties of the job
* Provide outstanding quality, patient‑centred care, seeking out, listening to, and acting on patients’ feedback so care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, maintaining patient medical records to the agreed standard and following standard operating procedures to a high and orderly standard.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, from the timely administration of medicines to analysing cost‑effective prescribing as defined through our unique Health in Justice medicines policy.
* Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
* Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience
* General GCSE education or equivalent
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
