We’re working with a long-established precision engineering business that specialises in producing high-quality, close-tolerance components for a range of industrial sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Programmer / Operator to join their team.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for setting, programming, and operating CNC turning centres to produce precision components to customer specifications. You’ll take ownership of your own machines, ensure quality standards are consistently achieved, and contribute to continuous improvement across the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set up and operate multi-axis CNC turning centres (Fanuc controls).
2. Program and edit CNC code as required to optimise performance and accuracy.
3. Read and interpret engineering drawings and work to fine tolerances.
4. Conduct in-process inspection using standard measuring equipment.
5. Ensure correct tooling, offsets, and workholding are in place before production.
6. Maintain equipment, keep work areas clean, and report any maintenance needs.
7. Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve any machining issues.
8. Follow company quality and health & safety standards at all times.
About You
9. Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Programmer/Operator on multi-axis turning centres.
10. Strong working knowledge of Fanuc controls.
11. Able to interpret detailed engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
12. Confident in writing or editing CNC programs as needed.
13. Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a small team.
14. Good understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining best practices.
15. Apprenticeship or relevant machining qualification advantageous.
Hours & Benefits
16. 38-hour basic week: Monday – Thursday, 07:00 – 17:00.
17. Optional overtime: Friday mornings (approx. 4 hours).
