About the Audio Visual Technician role: You’ll support the installation and maintenance of audio visual systems in exhibitions and displays at all our sites. The role also includes providing technical support in the Auditorium and working directly with colleagues and external clients. Strong communication skills and a proactive, practical approach are essential. As an Audio Visual Technician at National Museums Scotland you will: * Install and maintain audio visual systems in exhibitions and displays across all sites, prioritising maintenance work with the Technical Manager. * Be responsible for the smooth operation of the Museum’s Auditorium, managing technical requirements for visitor facing programmes and events, live online events, and web streams. * Manage a variety of audio visual equipment including replacement and repair, fault logging and maintenance reporting. * Contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams ensuring a high standard of production and maintenance care is upheld. * Ensure National Museums Scotland’s Health and Safety and access policies, procedures and guidelines are followed; and maintain the workshops and equipment in clean and safe working condition. Skills and experience we’re looking for in our Audio Visual Technician: * Hands-on experience setting up and operating AV equipment in live events, theatre, education or public spaces. * Hands-on experience supporting the installation and maintenance of AV systems in exhibitions and displays. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with both technical and non-technical colleagues and external clients. * A practical, problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to tasks.
