Job Description:
Queen Margaret Hospital is seeking a HCPC registered Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Ward 7 Stroke Rehabilitation team within Queen Margaret Hospital.
Ward 7 is an interdisciplinary ward providing inpatient stroke rehabilitation primarily for older adults.
Queen Margaret Hospital is within commuting distance from Edinburgh, with a local train station within a 5-minute walk. We pride ourselves on delivering evidence-based stroke rehabilitation, including functional skills training, movement re-education, cognitive rehabilitation, and postural management.
You will join an established therapy team comprising Physiotherapy, a Band 5 Occupational Therapist, and a Band 4 Advanced Practitioner. Your responsibilities include assessing, rehabilitating, and discharging stroke patients admitted from the acute setting. You will collaborate with occupational therapy and multidisciplinary team colleagues to help patients and their families achieve meaningful outcomes.
Applicants with a special interest in stroke rehabilitation and relevant skills are preferred. Experience managing complex conditions and discharge planning is essential. Opportunities to contribute to and lead service development in line with the Progressive Stroke Pathway will be available. You will also supervise staff and support students on placement.
