A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMIS CHEF AT THE WESTIN LONDON CITY
What you'll be doing...
Reporting to the Sous Chef, your responsibilities will include:
* Managing the day-to-day operations of various kitchen sections in the restaurant-wine bar and banqueting kitchen with support from Chef de Parties, ensuring standards are met.
* Assisting other kitchen sections in food production, service, or cleaning as needed based on workload.
* Maintaining a safe working environment by identifying hazards and taking corrective actions.
* Keeping all kitchen areas, dry stores, and refrigeration units clean and hygienic at all times.
* Ensuring consistent quality control of all food prepared and cooked, adhering to head chef’s and kitchen standards.
* Following company policies and regulations related to fire safety, hygiene, health & safety, and licensing.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To succeed as a Commis Chef, you should possess:
* An understanding of health & safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations, and the ability to adhere to them.
* Capability to manage various kitchen sections while maintaining safety standards.
* Flexibility to assist the Sous Chef and team as needed.
* A team-oriented mindset and ability to thrive in a busy kitchen environment.
* A passion for food and eagerness to learn.
* Previous experience at a similar level, either in pastry or commis roles.
* An understanding of quality control and kitchen standards.
