We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Nursery Manager to lead a high‑quality early years setting. This is a key leadership role, responsible for providing strong operational, pedagogical, and strategic direction while promoting the nursery's values, ethos, and reputation.
The Role
As Nursery Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, learning, and safeguarding for every child.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Management
Recruit, induct, and manage staff in line with safer recruitment practices
Provide strong, visible, and supportive leadership to the nursery team
Ensure effective staff deployment, rotas, and ratio compliance
Monitor performance, support professional development, and promote best practiceSafeguarding & Compliance
Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Ensure full compliance with EYFS, Ofsted, and all statutory guidance
Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare
Ensure policies and procedures are consistently implemented across the settingQuality of Education & Child Development
Ensure high-quality teaching, learning, and care throughout the nursery
Monitor and improve practice across all rooms
Oversee observation, assessment, and planning processes
Support children's learning, development, wellbeing, and early intervention
Promote inclusive practice, supporting children with additional needsOperational & Financial Management
Take responsibility for day‑to‑day operational and financial management
Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and occupancy
Contribute to strategic planning and support nursery growthPartnerships & Engagement
Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers
Manage enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally
Support marketing activity, including open days and nursery tours
Work collaboratively with the wider school and estate team
Support children's transitions, including transition into school where applicable
About You
A qualified and experienced early years professional with strong leadership experience
In‑depth knowledge of EYFS, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding
Highly organised, resilient, and confident with excellent communication skills
Committed to delivering outstanding outcomes for children and families
