Full-time Learning Support Assistant Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-time Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive educational environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), with a particular focus on cerebral palsy. This role is crucial in ensuring that all students, regardless of their abilities, have equal access to education and can reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, particularly those with cerebral palsy Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Assist in adapting learning materials and activities to meet the specific needs of students with cerebral palsy and other SEN Support students in developing their independence and life skills Monitor and record student progress, providing regular updates to teachers and parents Implement behavior management strategies and promote positive behavior Assist with personal care and mobility needs of students with cerebral palsy Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall development of SEN support strategies Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field Proven experience working with students with SEN, particularly cerebral palsy In-depth knowledge of various SEN and their impact on learning Familiarity with assistive technologies and alternative communication methods Strong interpersonal and communication skills Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Physical ability to assist with student mobility and personal care needs First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) Detailed Role Description As a Full-time Learning Support Assistant specializing in cerebral palsy and SEN, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Your primary focus will be on assisting students with cerebral palsy and other special educational needs to access the curriculum and develop their skills. 1. Individualized Support You will work closely with individual students, providing tailored support based on their specific needs.
