Dudley Children’s Social Care is recruiting passionate Adolescent Safeguarding Social Workers to join its dynamic and ambitious service, supporting young people aged 13+ who are at risk of exploitation and extra-familial harm.

Dudley has embedded the Hertfordshire Family Safeguarding Model across its social work teams — a strengths-based, whole-family approach that brings together co-located, multi-disciplinary partners to work intensively with families. The aim? Reduce risk, keep families together, and prevent children entering care or child protection planning wherever possible.
Practice in Dudley is restorative at its core, using Motivational Interviewing to create meaningful, sustainable change while recognising the strengths of children, families, and their wider networks.
👥 About the Service
The Adolescent Safeguarding Service includes:
6 social work teams and a dedicated Child Exploitation Team
The Dudley Exploitation Hub, working alongside Police, Missing Team, Health and Education
A truly multi-disciplinary workforce including Social Workers, Youth Workers, Substance Misuse Workers, IDVA, and partners such as Barnardo’s, CAMHS, Citizens Advice Bureau, Phase Trust, and moreSupporting children who go missing from home is a key part of the service, alongside close partnership working with Youth Justice, Housing, and other agencies.
🧠 Who we’re looking for
Qualified Social Workers with knowledge of Extra-Familial Harm
Professionals with the determination to help young people remain safely within their family networks
A commitment to co-producing care plans that protect children at risk of criminal and/or sexual exploitation
A creative, reflective practitioner who values innovative and holistic practice👉 Experience flexibility:
Applications are welcome from Social Workers with 2+ years’ permanent post-qualification experience — no need for the usual 3 years.
