This is a fantastic opportunity to lead external engagement with MPs and Councils on a range of issues, including Thames Water's biggest-ever investment programme to improve performance across London.
You will manage and deliver political and stakeholder engagement activities throughout London to protect and enhance the company’s reputation. This role involves ensuring MPs and senior councillors are informed of Thames Water’s key messages, responding to stakeholder queries, attending key meetings, and identifying opportunities to promote the company’s turnaround plan.
What you will be doing as Stakeholder Engagement Manager
1. Serve as the main point of contact in Thames Water for senior political stakeholders on local issues.
2. Build upon existing and develop new political relationships.
3. Provide insights and advice on effective engagement to senior leaders.
4. Support incident communication efforts to keep stakeholders informed.
5. Lead and provide clear guidance to the London Stakeholder Engagement Team.
What you should bring to the role
1. Significant experience engaging with stakeholders, particularly within local government.
2. Demonstrable leadership experience.
3. Experience advising colleagues, including at the executive level, on successful engagement strategies.
4. Experience in external engagement, ideally in a regulated sector, with a strong understanding of the external environment and key stakeholders' positions.
5. Excellent written communication skills for various channels and audiences.
6. Strong verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities.
7. Ability to build strong relationships and challenge conventional approaches.
8. Effective collaboration skills and the ability to work well with diverse disciplines.

* Competitive salary from £45,000 to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
