THIS ROLE IS PART TIME 10 DAYS PER MONTH! Our client is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer / Content Designer to join their Climate Services Training & User Support Team. In this role, you will play a key part in the design, development, and delivery of high-quality learning experiences for our industry customers as part of an innovative new online training service.
Working closely with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders, you’ll design engaging, accessible, and impactful digital learning solutions that make complex climate service concepts easy to understand and apply. You’ll help shape the end-to-end user learning journey, ensuring all content meets user needs and supports professional development across our customer base.
Responsibilities:
* Apply proven Instructional Design methodologies (e.g. ADDIE) to create scalable and effective learning solutions.
* Collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and internal teams to define training needs, learning objectives, and learner personas.
* Design and develop engaging, learner-centred instructional materials including e-learning modules, explainer videos, instructor-led and blended learning solutions, and job aids.
* Produce content in a range of digital formats, ensuring accessibility, inclusivity, and alignment with organisational policies and best practices.
* Use learning technologies and authoring tools (e.g. LMS platforms, Rise360, Storyline360, video editing software) to deliver and manage learning materials effectively.
* Support SMEs through the creation of templates, guidance documents, and video tutorials for content development.
* Evaluate and iterate on learning content based on feedback and data-driven insights to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
Essential Requirements:
* Proven experience as an Instructional Designer or Digital Learning Designer.
* Strong understanding of the learning design process and adult learning principles.
* Demonstrated experience in developing digital learning content from concept to delivery.
* Advanced proficiency in Rise360 and a working-level understanding of Storyline360.
* Strong video editing skills and familiarity with professional editing tools.
* Ownership and management of content creation and publishing software.
* Understanding of AI applications in learning design and willingness to apply emerging technologies.
* Ability to challenge ideas and provide innovative, learner-focused solutions.
* Knowledge of accessibility standards and experience designing inclusive content for all users.
Desirable:
* Experience working in climate services, environmental sectors, or other technical domains.
* Familiarity with UX writing or content design principles in learning contexts.
* Experience managing content within a Learning Management System (LMS).
